The Afghanistan Caste System
Afghanistan became a country in 1747, and since that time, there has been a strict divide between people in the country. The majority of the countries population consists of Pashtun and Hazara people. The main difference between these groups of people is their appearance, ad Hazara people have acquired a more Asian physical appearance regarding eye and nose shape. As a result, Hazara's have always been deemed as different from other Afghanistan's, as they do not look like the traditional standard of most Afghanistan people. in addition, Pashtun people have always taken roles of power within the country. this is evident as most political members of the country are Pashtun, leaving Hazara's with no political sway. Furthermore, the use of this Caste System has created immense inequalities among people, as certain individuals have wealth, live lavish lifestyles, are able to obtain an education and have a political voice, while others live beneath the poverty line, desperately attempting to gain the everyday necessities the need to live another day.
